Millions of women, men and children around the world become victims of human trafficking each year. Over the years human trafficking has, unfortunately, become a global multi-billion dollars enterprise that effects every country.

According to Equality Now :

- Sex trafficking alone is among the world’s fastest growing criminal industries.

- Sex trafficking is lucrative industry making an estimated $99 billion a year

At least 20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold into commercial sexual servitude, forced labor and bonded labor

- About 2 million children are exploited every year in a global commercial sex trade

- 54% of trafficking victims are trafficked for sexual exploitation

- Women and girls make up 96% of victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation

The U.S. Justice Department estimates that 35,500-170,500 people are trafficked into the united states every year. Those being trafficked, include young children, teenagers, men and women and can be domestic citizens and foreign nationals. There is not official estimate of the total number of human trafficking victims in the U.S.
